Bigfoot in Malaysia?

Personally, I feel it’s all an elaborate hoax, a lame attempt at trying to get tourists into Kota Tinggi, Johor.

10-12 feet tall? Blonde hair? Timid personality? That’s too fantastic to be true.

No matter that “the aborigines (orang asli) never lie.”

Apparently sightings started a long time ago (since the 60s), but the “only evidence” are blurred b&w photos of “footprints.”

Apparently, wildlife authorities are considering mounting camera traps to capture images of anything roaming the jungles. I say if you’re serious about it, don’t consider, JUST DO IT.

According to news24.com:

This week, former zoologist Amlir Ayat, said he had come close to finding proof of the existence of “Bigfoot” five years ago after villagers claimed to have shot a huge hairy creature in the jungles of neighbouring Pahang state.

Ayat said: “The creature fell to the ground with a great thud and the villagers took to their heels. Later, when they returned to check if it was dead, they found the body still lying there.”

Amlir said he was only told of the shooting a year later. He and the villagers mounted a search for the remains of the creature but found none.

I say, this story is too convenient to be true. Why didnt the villagers report the incident immediately?? I am a villager too, and I would definitely do so given half a chance. Come on, the shooting apparently happened a mere few years ago and the villagers had guns for goodness sake – they were not stonemen.

BTW, bigfoot are called either “orang mawas” or “jarang gigi” locally.
